Dr. Derek Haaland is a board certified rheumatologist and Medical Director at The Waterside Clinic. Dr. Haaland has been conducting clinical trials since 2008 and has experience in over 35 phase II, III, and IV clinical trials, with disease conditions including acne, ankylosing spondylitis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and urticaria (hives). Additional research interests include allergies, asthma, connective tissue disease, fibromyalgia, inflammatory myopathies, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, rhinitis, scleroderma, tendinitis, bursitis, and vasculitis.

Dr. Haaland is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the McMaster University Department of Medicine, and an Instructor for the McMaster University Internal Medicine Program.

Involved in OA trials and also with another research team, with general practitioners, in trials in Vaccination, women health, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disease, lipidic disease, etc...

Canadian Centre for Clinical Trials is a site management organization but at the moment we only operate 1 site at Thornhill, Ontario. We have the expertise and capability to conduct clinical trials at our fully-equipped site. Our clinic offers a full range of services for studies in phase I to IV. We offer experience, commitment, and creative resources to diverse therapeutic areas, thus acquiring a comprehensive scope of clinical services.

 Our dedicated team is led by Dr. Igor Wilderman, who has over 20 years of expertise in the field of clinical trials, with the support of our qualified and interactive trial coordinators and compassionate nurses. We provide comfort to our patients while meeting the requirements of our pharmaceutical sponsors. We are well-equipped to deliver a receptive, reliable, and reputable method to achieve robust results.

The PERFORM Centre is a 8,000 m2 large-cohort population health and primary prevention research centre. PERFORM is equipped for conducting lifestyle and prevention interventions (coaching, behaviour change, nutrition, and physical activity), as well as validating the impact of those interventions through its 8 dedicated human participant platforms. These include physical conditioning, athletic therapy clinic, cardio-pulmonary, medical imaging (3-T MRI, PET-CT, SPECT-CT, DXA, ultrasound), metabolite/molecular analysis (including LCMS/MS mass spec), metabolic kitchen, sleep lab, and functional assessment (NeuroCom, EEG, perturbation, force plates, motion capture, Humac).

Tertiary care emergency department managing ~70,000 adult and 35,000 pediatric cases per year. Referral centre for trauma, burns, psychiatry, critical care, surgery, neurosurgery, pediatrics and a variety of sub-specialty medical services.

Family medical clinic. 5 family physicians. 1 principal investigator. 1 sub-investigator. 2 study coordinators. 1 administrative assistant. Roughly 5 phase 3 trials yearly. P.I. has + 20 years research experience.

Foothills Medical Centre has a CV ICU (12 beds) and a med/surg/trauma/neuro ICU 30 beds.  We conduct single and multi centre clinical trials and have a well established Critical Care Research Executive Committee.
